How to Pay for Care

There are several ways to fund your care with Gleberry Support. We work with clients who are privately funded, as well as those receiving support through NHS Continuing Healthcare or local authority funding.

Private Payment

Many families choose to fund care privately, giving them full flexibility and control over the care package. You pay directly for the services you receive. If you are eligible for care from the council you can also choose direct payment, which keeps the service flexible to you and lets you choose your provider. Our payment terms are 7 days from the invoice date for weekly invoices, or monthly by Direct Debit.

NHS Funded — Free if Eligible

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC)

NHS Continuing Healthcare is free care funded entirely by the NHS for adults aged 18 or over who have a primary health need that is complex, substantial, and ongoing. If eligible, the NHS can fund up to 100% of your care costs — regardless of your income or savings. It is not means tested. Care can be received at home, in a care home, or in a hospice.

Local Authority Funding

If you have been assessed by your local council as needing care, you may be eligible for local authority funding. A financial assessment (means test) will determine how much you contribute. We can support you in navigating this process.

What is NHS Continuing Healthcare?

NHS Continuing Healthcare (NHS CHC) is a package of ongoing care arranged and funded solely by the NHS. To be eligible, your need for care must be primarily health-related and assessed as complex, substantial, and ongoing. Crucially, NHS CHC is not means tested — your income and savings are not taken into account. If you qualify, the NHS covers the full cost of your care. If you believe you or a loved one may be eligible, we encourage you to speak to your GP or contact your local NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) to request an assessment.

We can support you through the assessment process. Contact us to find out more.
